Fusing punk with melody, metal intensity with an adventurous spirit, the drama and darkness of AX7 moves effortlessly from his powerful vocal punch to thick cascading melodies, from loud and fast to epic. The first single is "Bat Country."© ? 2005 Warner Bros. Records Inc. for the U.S. and WEA International Inc. for the World outside the U.S.

Alexander S. - 22/Aug/2019 This release is perhaps the best I've heard in 2005 and is undoubtedly the best album of the group. Fans are unlikely to agree with the latter statement, but in my opinion, the previous two albums were straightforward and rather secondary hardcore, though at times Avenged Sevenfold slipped original ideas, which markedly separated them from other brothers in the workshop like Eighteen Visions and Poison The Well. In this release, it is simply amazing how many different directions they have connected. Melodic death, hardcore, power, sometimes even prog elements slipped. Em Shedous sang most of the tracks with clean vocals, either he plucked his voice after screaming on "Waking The Fallen", or just wanted to, in any case, it did the band good. The album begins with the rather nondescript track “Beast and the Harlot”, and at first I even thought that there wouldn’t be anything good in the album, like “Burn It Down”, “Blinded In Chains”, “Bat Country”, etc. e. Every last song is a hit, very vivid and memorable. I would especially like to mention such works as "Sidewinder", the beginning is the poured Arch Enemy, and pay attention to the acoustic guitar at the end, shine! "Seize The Day" is one of the best ballads that I have ever heard, parallels with the Hanseatic "November Rain", especially the music video, suggest themselves. "Strength Of The World" is a 9-minute thing, in my opinion, the best thing on the album, with a great orchestral introduction. I really liked the album, I look forward to the next and really hope that the Sevenfold Damned will not fail.
| | Evripidis T. - 29/Oct/2017 This is where Avenged Sevenfold became big with a sound reminding Metallica and Guns n Roses! Great virtuoso playing from these Americans!
