In general, the release of “Les Memoires Blessees” is designed in the typical spirit of this collective. He carries nothing radically new in himself. These are all the same melancholy melodies stylized in places by the music of the Middle Ages. All also uses a pure piano, the sound of which is based on the lower octaves, which creates a rather original atmosphere .... But, nevertheless, we will consider the “construction” of music in more detail ...
Of course, not everything rests on keyboards. Music also contains the sound of stringed instruments. The sound performed with their help is especially well-perceived, just when the keyboards either subside or simply recede into the background. Percussion instruments are no less impressive. Most of all, when they are represented by rare hits in the big drum. The effect seems very solemn, which is why all the music gets a certain shade of elevation and, at the same time, gloom (in the positive sense of the word). However, there are beautiful compositions, the pace of which is very, very fast. In particular, this applies to track number VIII - Laissez Moi Mourir. Here we are faced with swift enumerations of stringed instruments, lyrical overflowing winds and barely audible blows to the bell. And, of course, we listen to the beautiful female vocals. Great!
Speaking of vocals ... Music would not be so beautiful if it weren’t for a really beautiful female voice. It is quite tall and long. In conjunction with the music, the components of which were just described, we can again say about the pronounced solemnity and even some monumentality of melodies, the average length of which is about five minutes.
So, despite the fact that the main creative achievements of the team have not changed much since the first album, we can seriously say that this is not a flaw. The material presented on this release is so interesting and beautiful that the idea arises that you can always listen to such music, despite the fact that the compositions representing it do not differ much from each other. It must be in an amazing atmosphere that absorbs everything else, prompting the listener to surrender to her completely. And that's great.
