| | Description: | Blackfield is the collaboration between Israeli songwriter & musician Aviv Geffen & British musician & producer Steven Wilson. The collaboration, extending from their self-titled debut in 2004 to the recent album â??For The Musicâ?? in 2020, has proven to be a prolific partnership for creating striking & affecting music.
The pair makes for a formidable musical force; Geffen has worked with legendary producers Tony Visconti & Trevor Horn, has performed with U2, Placebo & Biffy Clyro & was a judge on the Israeli TV show â??The Voiceâ??. Steven Wilson, as the leader of the hugely influential band â??Porcupine Treeâ??, has also had a highly successful solo career, with Top 5 chart albums across Europe & multiple Grammy nominations.
With guest appearances from Suede's Brett Anderson, Jonathon Donahue from Mercury Rev & Anathema frontman Vincent Cavanagh, â??Blackfield IVâ?? was described by Record Collector as 'a record that has an elegantly timeless & melodic grace to it' (). Terrorizer in the UK stated that 'Blackfield IV is as rich sonically as it is musically, with countless moments of utter inspiration, this is creative liberation', while Prog described it as 'a melancholic & heartfelt collection that is occasionally stunning & often uplifting.'
