Watain hatte vor Erscheinen dieses Albums den Mund ziemnlich voll genommen: man wollte den Black Metal aus der Krise holen und in neue Dimensionen führen. Da muss man wohl eindeutig feststellen: Ziel nicht erreicht! Nebenbei mal erwähnt, finde ich gar nicht, dass der Black Metal in einer Krise steckt. Es gibt immer wieder grossartige Neuerscheinungen, die voll begeistern. Und wenn man nach Kreativität oder Innovation sucht, sollte man auf andere Bands ausweichen, so z.B. die israelische Gruppe Winterhorde o.a. Aber nun zurück zu Watain. Wenn sie auch ihr gestecktes Ziel nicht erreicht haben, so muss man doch erkennen, das hier ein gutes Black Metal Album geschaffen wurde, das trotz seiner extremen Länge von fast 80 Minuten (Digi) kaum langweilig wird und das will schon was heissen! Dazu möchte ich auch noch erwähnen, das Watain ein Garant für gleichbleibende Qualität von CD zu CD sind. Optisch ist das Album auch ein absoluter Hingucker (jedenfalls die Digi). Es ist alles sehr stimmungsvoll gemacht. Wer sich das Booklet mal angeschaut hat, wird mir Recht geben. Ich kann das Album eigentlich jeden Black Metaler empfehlen, denn man hat verdammt viel gute Musik für sein Geld.
