Willem became the winner of the fourth season of Nouvelle Star, the French equivalent of Pop/American Idol. During the competition, judge Marianne James dubbed him "La Toutu" (The Turtle) for his geeky looks. But the one thing the judges and the public could not deny is Willem's powerful voice and rightfully named him as the best of the lot. The album debuted at the pole position on the French charts and achieved No. 1 in Belgium as well.
