Reissue of the 1974 album by American drummer John Betsch, which was originally released on the cult label Strata East. 'Earth Blossom' was John Betsch's only album as leader, a lyrical afro-centric slice of spiritual jazz it was recorded whilst he was living in Nashville. He has lived in Paris for the last 30+ years, recording with well-known jazz stars such as Mal Waldron, Steve Lacy and Jim Pepper. Personnel: John Betsch (drums, percussion), Billy Puett (flute, alto flute, alto and tenor saxophone, bass clarinet), Bob Holmes (piano, electric piano, percussion), Ed 'Lump' Williams (electric bass, acoustic bass, percussion), Jim Bridges (guitar, percussion), Phil Royster (congas, percussion). - RSD 2015
