Description:LTM are pleased to announce a comprehensive program of CD reissues by The Royal Family & the Poor the cult avant-folk-noise collective overseen by reclusive Liverpudlian bard Michael Keane. Formed by Mike Keane & Arthur McDonald in 1978 the duo's early Situationist agenda saw them join Factory Records & appear on the Factory Quartet compilation in 1980. Another early member was Nathan McGough later manager of Happy Mondays. After 1981 the band consisted of Keane alone.
Track 1 to 9 were originally released as Fact 140 under the title "The Project Phase 2 - We Love The Moon". All tracks recorded at Amazon, Liverpool, in four days. Track 4 recorded in Ambrose Reynolds' living room on 2 track sombolere in 1982 late at night. Track 10 originally released on the Third Mind compilation album "Four From The Madding Crowd" (TMLP 16). Recorded at Studio 666 in August 1986. Track 11 originally released as a 7" picture disc on Factory Records (Fac 139) in April 1986, and also included on the Third Mind compilation album "Four From The Madding Crowd" (TMLP 16). Recorded at Amazon, Liverpool, in December 1985. Track 12 taken from the album Live 1983-1985 released in 1986 on the Recloose label (Loose 13), and recorded at Stafford Polytechnic, 6 May 1983. Please note that the original cassette was damaged and that the fluctuation in sound is not a fault on the CD. Tracks 13 to 15 originally released as a 12" single "Art On 45" on Factory Records (Fac 43) in 1981. All material released under license from Gaia Communications and Mike Keane. Copyright reserved. All tracks digitally remastered in 2003.
