Diese legendäre LP ist ein Kronjuwel in der Diskographie von Miles Davis, der alle Arten von Stilen ausprobierte und sich von seinen frühesten Jobs bei Charlie Parker und Dizzy Gillespie bis zu seinem Tod 1991 immer wieder neu erfand.
Hinter ihm stehen fünf Musiker - John Coltrane am Tenorsaxophon, Julian â??Cannonballâ?? Adderley am Altsaxophon, Bill Evans und Wynton Kelly am Klavier, Paul Chambers am Bass und Jimmy Cobb am Schlagzeug - die sich zusammengetan haben, um eine neue Konzeption Jazzkonzeption zum Leben zu erwecken, die sich von der des vergangenen Jahrzehnts abhob. Bald wurden sie zu Jazzlegenden. Gemeinsam produzierten sie ein Album, das zu Recht als eines der wertvollsten in der Geschichte der aufgenommenen Musik gilt. - On Back cover:
