Description:Heavy Love by Al Cohn, released 4 June 2015, includes the following tracks: "I Hadn T Anyone Till You", "These Fooling Things", "For All We Know" and more. This version of Heavy Love comes as a 1xCD. -
The Xanadu Master Edition Series - all newly remastered recordings from the out-of-print jazz label of the 70s and 80s. There will be 25 albums in total over next 18 months. Heavy Love is a classic duet recording by tenor man Al Cohn and pianist Jimmy Rowles. Xanadu owner Don Schlitten had the foresight to capture such a splendid and satisfying duo, which no commercial label would have conceived of at the time.
Recorded March 15, 1977 at Rosebud Studios, New York City. Track 7 is a bonus track, from the same session but not present on the original LP configuration. Track 5 is misidentified as "These Fooling Things" on the tray card, though the correct title appears in the booklet. Made in the EU. Xanadu Master Edition, in a 'Super Jewel Case'. Includes 16-page booklet and bonus track. www.elemental-music.com
