EU-only release that contains a collection of tunes made by John Coltrane for the Atlantic label in 1959-60, selected by renowned Japanese jazz critics from the Swing Journal magazine, and compiled on an LP in Japan under the title of GOLDEN DISK. Trane is featured with such stars as Wynton Kelly, Hank Jones, Tommy Flanagan and McCoy Tyner on piano, Milt Jackson on vibes, Steve Davis and Paul Chambers on bass, and Elvin Jones, Connie Kay, Art Taylor and Jimmy Cobb on drums. Among the many highlights are the classic readings of 'My Favorite Things' and 'Giant Steps'. We have completed the original set with seven bonus tracks from the same sessions, including the perennial 'Naima'. Includes 8-page booklet.
