| Description: | From the opening strains of the politico title-track to the countrified pedal steel guitar on â??Man With A Mission,â?
from the anti-establishment anthem â??American Jesus,â? to the heart rending ballad â??Struck A Nerve,â? Bad Religionâ??s
Recipe For Hate is by far their most eclectic album, and one that never ceases to stir up controversy among fans.
Graffin, a seething combination of perfect pitch and skeptical emotion, reaffirms his place as one of the best punk
rock vocalists on this record. Guest appearances abound, from Eddie Vedder (of Pearl Jam fame) harmonizing on
â??American Jesusâ? and â??Watch it Die,â? to Concrete Blondeâ??s Johnette Napolitanoâ??s stunning vocals on â??Struck A
Nerve,â? to Claw Hammerâ??s John Wahl and Chris Bagarozziâ??s searing guitar leads on â??Kerosene.â? As the songwriting
team of Graffin/Gurewitz pull back from their more introspective writing that appeared on some of the previous
albums, they focus ever more keenly on the events of the day.
Recipe For Hate is a scathing commentary on the
state of the nation, a social criticism addressing alcoholism, abortion and homelessness. Reissued on limited edi-
tion Red w/ black smoke vinyl to celebrate the albumâ??s 30th anniversary! - This submission is unique because the matrix string includes a [l267848] logo. See '[r=6904400]' for the later repress CD with a [l34825] logo in the matrix.
