This is amongst the best COF -works, not their best but offers some best songs ever released by the band such as: "Cruelty Brought Thee Orchids" and "Portrait Of The Dead Countess".

Most people tend to mention this as the best Cradle of Filth album. I don't agree with them, but is a very good symphonic black metal work, still with a very raw feeling they would trade for a more polished sound in the years to come.
