The controversial album turned out, some kind of native, but unfamiliar. The reason for this, oddly enough, is for me first of all drums Niko. This sound, which went with The X Factor, somehow gets out of the general sound, it is too studio and dry. For some reason, Maiden stuck the main loss of his own “Can I Play With Madness” to the basis of the verse “Ghost of the Navigator,” and Bruce himself presented “The Mercenary” from his solo bins. Three guitarists are inaudible, duplicate solos are not perceived, it’s good that Harris does not go forward with his bass, as he liked to do on the last albums of the last millennium with Bruce. Chorus repetition is a nightmare. And so it’s already clear that a couple of "Blood Brothers" needs someone "Show me no fear". It seems like everything is not very good ... but no! Bruce pulls this convoy like a locomotive, may God grant him good health. Still, the musical component is interesting and varied, certainly no one has lost their skill, the arrhythmic nature of the compositions does not let you be bored, the epic "Nomad" is present, the album is listened to without clicking to click on another track. This is the "spirit" of Maiden, which must be felt and understood.
