The main advantage of the album (and the difference from the rest of the band's creations) is the amazing strength and beauty of the atmosphere, achieved both by the sound of guitars and by the use of synthesizers. This atmosphere, like nothing else, corresponds to the theme of the album, one way or another connected with time. This is an integral part of the concept of the album. The future or the past doesn't matter, but the time just feels in these songs. The sound of the album is also distinguished by a certain airiness and lightness. This is especially felt in the songs “The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner” and “Deja-Vu”, thanks to the successful combination of this airy sound with fast drum parts. The sound features of the album are perceived by many as a disadvantage, but I can not agree with this opinion in any case! The beginning of the song “Heaven Can Wait”, a small solo on the background of an acoustic guitar after the main solo in the “foggy” song “Sea Of Madness”, a guitar break after the second verse in the song “Alexander The Great”, as well as numerous inserts of sentasators - these are highlights that make this album completely unique. Comparing it with other creations on the subject of worse or better does not make sense, because the album is simply different. The solo guitar on this album is close to an unattainable ideal. Even though the solo parts are not very clever, they are very beautiful and strong. The solo in “Alexander The Great”, in my opinion, contains a number of flaws in its first half, but in the already mentioned high-speed “The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner” – there is simply nothing to complain about. Probably one of the band's greatest solos, along with the parts from the '88 album. At the same time, the album contains a lot of various annoying flaws (for example, the beautiful choruses in the songs “Wasted Years” and “Heaven Can Wait” give off some unfinished melodies, the ending of “Sea Of Madness” is clearly drawn out, etc.). However, all this is not evident. Amazing cover in my opinion. In general, the band's image is clearly out of tune with the band's most beautiful and melodic music. Only a few covers made it into the top ten, and in my opinion, this album is the first one. Beautiful picture! (I also really like the picture for “Killers”, although it doesn’t match the music…) Strictly speaking, the album is not a masterpiece. But the positive influence of the album on the psyche is so great, and the significance of its shortcomings is so scanty that one simply does not raise a hand to put anything other than a ten! In general, the verdict: music for all time.

Among the best album being produced in the 80s and of course among the best from Iron Maiden’s cataloque. This is Iron Maiden at their prime. I can’t point out which is the best track in this album since all 8 tracks is awesome. You can just listem to them again and again. Up the Irons!

For almost any other rock band that springs to mind, the thought of mounting an epic world tour drawing only from that band’s undisputed Eighties gold...
