This version of Graceland (2011 Remaster) comes as a 1xLP.
The vinyl is pressed as a opaque disc. - 180 RAgm vinyl LP pressing with download card. Digitally re-mastered and expanded 25th Anniversary edition of this groundbreaking album from the iconic singer/songwriter. In 1986, Graceland sold 14 million copies worldwide and garnered both the Album and Song of the Year Grammy in 1987. Simon and the members of Ladysmith Black Mambazo performed on Saturday Night Live and appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone. It generated three hit singles and it kept Paul Simon and the Graceland tour on the road for five years. It's music was heard across the globe. Today, it's music and it's reputation still reach generations of music enthusiasts yet so many are unaware of how pivotal that one album was during the 1980 s, how it helped birth the idea of World Music and revived the career of one of America's most important songwriters. How it influenced the political progress of South Africa a country divided by institutionalized racism, causing and then transcending years of controversy. How in fact the album came to be in the first place.Comes with a printed inner sleeve, which has lyrics and credits, and a 36"x24" poster. May include a download card and/or a '25th Anniversary Edition" card. On the outer shrink wrap front are 2 stickers - 25th hype and 'RTI HQ-180'. There are two different versions of the 25th hype sticker with the most obvious difference being with or without 'Record Store Day April 21 2012' at the bottom of the sticker.
Initially sold as a Record Store Day First Release on 4/21/2012 with 'Record Store Day April 21 2012' at the bottom of the sticker. It was subsequently released on 5/6/2012, along with other 25th Anniversary releases, but without the 'Record Store Day April 21 2012' at the bottom of the sticker.
