When you crawl under the ceiling at home because it rains, the fire salamander becomes really active. He feels really comfortable in the rain and enjoys it when the raindrops fall on his nose. That's why he usually lives in humid forests.
In the wild, the salamander is only 15-20 years old. But if you have him as a pet, he can be over 40 years old. Earthworms, beetles, snails, spiders and insects are part of his diet.
