Description:Nick Hume (Kevin Bacon) hat ein perfektes Leben: guter Job, attraktive Frau (Kelly Preston), zwei Söhne. Doch als sein ältester Sohn von einer Straßengang brutal ermordet wird, ist Hume bald nur noch von einem Gedanken besessen: Rache. Er wird zu Richter, Jury und Henker in einer Person, denn alle Beteiligten - vor allem Gangleader Billy Darly (Garrett Hedlund) - sollen für das grauenhafte Verbrechen büßen, erbarmungslos und ohne Ausnahme.
John Hume ist erfolgreicher Geschäftsmann und liebender
Familienvater. Eines Nachts wird sein Sohn bei einem
Raubüberfall getötet. Der Mörder ist Anführer einer
Straßengang und wird wenig später von der Polizei
geschnappt.

Obwohl dem Mörder der Prozess gemacht wird kann John das
Urteil nicht als gerecht empfinden. Zu groß ist der Schmerz
des Verlustes. John beschliesst das Gesetz selbst in die
Hand zu nehmen.
