This version of Downtown Science comes as a 2xCD. - Tony Simon aka Blockhead debuted on Ninja Tune in 2004 with the critically acclaimed Music By Cave light. Now he returns with another set of deep, emotional instrumental hip hop, this time dedicated to the downtown area of Manhattan where he grew up and has lived his entire life, encompassing all the attitude, anger and edginess of the neighborhood. DowntownScience also includes a bonus DVD which includes the winners of the film-making competition that Ninja ran for Music By Cave light. Running from traditional pop promos, to short films using the music more like a soundtrack, the whole of Blockhead's amazing first album is presented here in several visual forms. 2005.DVD includes:
-Videos of the winners of a competition for the "Music By Cavelight" album contest. The video for "Lucid House" came in first, the "Mini Vegas" video second and the feature film "Cycle Of Days" by Mat Donnelly came in third.
-Extras include videos for "Triptych Part 1", "Road Rage Breakdown", "Flicker By Cavelight", "Jet Son" and "Triptych Part 3".
-The video for "Insommniac's Oplympics" by Sam Arthur.
