This ambitious compilation features a collection of cover songs that pay homage to Metallica?s musical influences, spanning genres from hard rock and punk to classic heavy metal. The first disc contains newly recorded covers from 1998, while the second disc compiles earlier B-sides and rare tracks dating back to their early career. Notable renditions include "Turn the Page" (originally by Bob Seger) and "Whiskey in the Jar," both of which became fan favorites. Mercury Records, known for its rich history in promoting iconic artists across various genres since its founding in 1945, brings its expertise and prestige to this release. Metallica themselves are one of the most successful bands in music history, with multiple Grammy Awards and over 125 million albums sold worldwide?albums like "Master of Puppets," "...And Justice for All," and their self-titled "Black Album" have cemented their legacy as pioneers of modern metal. | | Producer: |

Alexander Ivanovich S. - 28/Sep/2020 This is the great album of the covers masterfully rearranged and performed by the monsters of thrash metal! Many of the songs sound fresher and more energetic than their originals. This is the true diamond in the wide catalog of the Metallica!
| | Yuriy P. - 08/May/2020 A wonderful album, the undoubted luck of Metallica! Everything played flawlessly both in terms of performance and taste - nothing is spoiled, on the contrary - the approach is purely careful and accurate! All with drive and brilliance. The merit of this album also lies in the fact that it made many (including me) hear these great things - albeit in covers! Sabbra Cadabra - general class! The material is flawless - Black Sabbath, Nick Cave, Blue Oyster Cult, Queen, Motorhead and many more unknown teams / people.
Many, having heard about this album, say that Metallica, having exhausted herself, began to cover everything that would not come to hand. But this is far from the case. It’s just that over the years, quite a lot of covers have accumulated, so the metallurgists decided to release them as a separate album, and in addition they recorded several new ones. The result is a very good album. Many famous compositions performed by Metallica sounded fresher and heavier and, in my opinion, in many respects overtook the originals.
| | Vladislav M. - 16/Nov/2019 Great album of cover versions.
The guys from Metallica grew up with good taste. They really gave these compositions a new life.
Moreover - covers in their performance sound and listen more interesting than many later own ... =)
