"Machineries of Joy", the Die Krupps initiated joint venture with Nitzer Ebb, did not only hit the Billboard charts, but also the right nerves, re-activated Die Krupps, whom had provided some of the most pioneering music works in the 80s. Die Krupps started the new decade with 1991's I, an album that inspired many and paved the way for a new sound. "Metal Machine Music" already hinted at the potential of the clash of sequenced electronics and soaring guitars which was to dominate industrial clubs over the next few years.

CD1 all tracks recorded at Atom H Studios, Düsseldorf in 1990, digitally remixed and remastered at Atom H in 2008 CD2 recorded and produced at Atom H 1990, tracks 1-10 co-produced and mixed for Fun Factory, remastered at Atom H 2008. One is a cover of the Metallica track. Dr Mabuse is a cover of the Propaganda track. The samples (like Darth Vader's voice from "The Empire Strikes Back") from original 1991-version are missing or played backwards on this release. Made in Germany
