Description:Die 16-jährigen Jungs Philip und Dieter wachsen in einer konservativen Kleinstadt in Minnesota auf, beide sind deutscher Abstammung. Philip, offen schwul, kann die bedrückende Engstirnigkeit seiner Umwelt nicht mehr ertragen und flieht in die Großstadt Minneapolis. Dieter bleibt und trifft auf Udo, einen chaotischen Typen, der keine Ansprüche ans Leben hat. Doch auch sie sind irgendwann von den rigiden puritanischen Zwängen der Gemeinschaft so genervt, dass sie Philip in die Großstadt folgen. Philip geht inzwischen auf den Strich, und Dieter macht es ihm beängstigend mühelos nach. Junge Menschen, von ihren Eltern verstoßen, suchen sich ihren festen Platz in der Gesellschaft.
