Description:Limited vinyl LP pressing including digital download. 1989 release, the third album from the alt-country crooner who mixes blues, jazz and country to define his unique sound. The album was produced by Tony Brown, engineered by Chuck Ainlay. Lovett's gender-bending cover of Tammy Wynette's "Stand By Your Man" was later included in the soundtrack of the 1993 movie The Crying Game. Lyle Lovett and His Large Band reached #10 on Billboard's chart for Top Country Albums, and #62 in the Billboard Hot 200. At the Grammy Awards of 1990, Lovett won the Grammy Award for Best Male Country Vocal Performance for Lyle Lovett and His Large Band.
Comes with a plain white poly-lined inner sleeve and has a hype sticker on the front of the protective shrink-wrap. Lyrics are printed on the back cover, except "Stand By Your Man" lyrics not included. Includes a download card for the digital album, with an expiry date of 8/25/16 i.e. one year after release. [Back cover] "If You Were To Wake Up" (B5) melody adapted from "Farther Along" -traditional. Digitally recorded at Soundstage Studio (Backstage) using Mitsubishi X-850 32 track digital.
