"In a funny way, just about all of the tracks on the album take me back to a time or place that only ever seems to surface when I hear that particular song and I can usually associate it with being glued to the TV on Sunday afternoons at 6pm to watch Countdown on the ABC. I can remember Judie Tzuke's Stay With Me Till Dawn being at number one for so long that after a while, Molly Meldrum and whatever special quest was on, would talk over the song about some new hit prediction or whatever was coming up on the next
week's show. The Motels had that sultry female lead singer. Golden Brown by The Stranglers may or may not have been about heroin, and 10CC ? I don't even want to go there. Thirteen and Robyn Hitchcock's Queen Elvis are the kind of songs that really creep up on you. Neither ever had any real chart success but I'm glad we could get them on the album. Songs by The Smiths and The Police, The Pixies and The Korgis are all great and hopefully we've done them justice. Out of all the tracks on the album the one that stands out the most for me was actually a last minute suggestion by Frank Di Sario and ended up becoming the title of the album Ruby's Arms. We recorded that song in just one take and its beauty and simplicity tear my heart out every time I hear it." (Album liner notes by Martin Breeze)
