Core members of the emerging Norwegian Cafe Superstar scene, Nice System is a parallel project from the gang behind Remington Super 60. With Nice System, the trio focus more on acoustic instruments (including cello) and real drums, but never quite unplug their synths. Like Watoo Watoo's release for Radio Khartoum, this record grew out songs originally produced for the 18fps soundtrack series, and this shows in the cinematic sensibility and escapist tendencies of the songs and semi-instrumentals collected here. A healthy dose of ba-ba-bas, bossanova, and fragile, warbling keyboard calls, this is music for homework dodging.
