One of the two giants (the other being Pablo Milanes) of a highly political folk music known as 'Nuevo Trova'. He has revisited the minimal guitar based acoustic arrangements of the early years and enlisted the help of La Orquesta Sinfonica Nacional de Cuba to record this album. 'Expedition' is a symbol of Rodriguez' musical journey, this chapter 3 years in the making. All are new songs save for 3 re-recordings of older classics.

"Expedición" fue grabado y mezclado en los estudios Abdala y Ojalá, entre abril y noviembre de 2001, en La Habana, Cuba, y fue masterizado en los estudios Abbey Road, Londres, en marzo de 2002. Ingeniero: Steve Rooke. Comes in a special kind of Digipack, with 16 kind of postcards, front of them makes a puzzle of front cover, and lyrics of each song, pictures and info on the back.
