Widely held to be Deep Purple's central, classic album, it's true that Machine Head is a tour de force. Less experimental than In Rock, more focused than Fireball, it was hard rock at its best. It had everything: pounding drums, power chords and piercing guitar solos, organ solos, insistent, intriguing bass, screaming but musical vocals.

I don’t even know where to start reviewing this wonderful album ... It can be mentioned that this is the best Deep Purple album. That it is an example of 20th century classical music. But all this has been said before me more than once, and I don’t even know what to add! Okay, go over the songs:
1) "Highway Star"! Classic! That could have been Mozart's sound if he lived in 1972. Two unforgettable solos, a keyboard (based on Mozart's music) and a guitar, which is already included in the textbooks! And all this under indescribably daring, high and powerful vocals!
2) "Maybe I'm a Leo." A measured, slightly disturbing room. It is a sample of the Blackmore riffs with the Lord's organ lining.
3) "Pictures of Home". One of the favorite songs on the album, which, in my opinion, is not weaker than “Space Truckin '”. The song is very fast and disturbing, with the beginning reminiscent of “Strange Kind of Woman”. As always, cool solos that portray the mountain climate here.
4) "Never Before." A calm, almost bluesy song. Nothing outstanding, but nice to listen to.
5) "Smoke on the Water". See list of greatest music.
6) "Lazy". As expressed above, instrumental with vocals. A great replacement for Wring That Neck.
7) “Space Truckin '”. Another classic track, the most aggressive on the album.
Only one thing can be said about this album: CLASSIC!
