This Frontier Records release is a compilation for the U.S. market, but the compilation CD was also issued in Australia on August 1st 1994 (The ARIA Report Issue #233): Tracks 1 to 4 were produced by Ward Dotson and first issued on the '[r=4013004]' CD EP, which was released in Australia by Rubber Records on January 31st 1994 (RUB030 / ID0026-2). Tracks 5 to 7 were first issued in Australia on the limited edition '[r=10562528]' bonus disc (500 copies), which was released by Rubber Records on April 5th 1993 (ID 0013/2). Track 5 is a cover of the [a314459] song '867-5309 / Jenny'. Tracks 8 to 13 were first issued in Australia on the standard version of The Affected's debut album '[m=1208790]', which was released by Rubber Records on April 5th 1993 (ID 0013/2). According to the booklet's liner notes, these tracks were remixed for this American release of 'Fate...' The total length of Track 13 is 6:16. At the end of Track 13, 'Empty Promises' (5:03), there's a short silence (0:06) before the hidden track begins (1:07). This 'Untitled' hidden track (13.3) also appeared after the fourth track on the Australian CD EP version of '[r=4013004]'. This CD is housed in a jewel case with a clear plastic tray and a folding 4-page booklet. *At the time of this release [a2212692] is credited as a current member of The Affected, but she didn't play bass on any of these compilation tracks.
