These live recordings from the 1960s, made at the legendary Jazzhus Montmartre, showcase a futuristic avant-garde jazz. This is John Tchicai's group, formed after his return from New York, and highlights the freedom that the saxophonist gave his young colleagues, encouraging them to explore the boundaries between composition and improvisation.
Recorded August 1966 Jazzhus Montmartre, Copenhagen at the Danish Music and Ballet Festival. This is the groups very first performance. Other photos: Private Digipak with 6-page foldout insert.
