This version of Changes & Things comes as a 1xCD. - Digitally remastered edition. Changes & Things happily testifies to the values that established Sam Jones' reputation. The band here is strictly first-rate, comprised of veterans Slide Hampton on trombone, Blue Mitchell on trumpet, Barry Harris, on piano and his Cannonball bandmate Louis Hayes on drums, along with young tenor sax hotshot Bob Berg, who was 26 at the time of this recording. Digitally remastered from the original tapes. Deluxe packaging with a 16-page booklet with original liner notes by Chris Sheridan and a new essay by jazz journalist Bill Milkowski, plus restored artwork, photos and session notes. Supervised by original producer and Xanadu label head Don Schlitten.Recorded at RCA Studios, New York City, September 14, 1977.
