The fourth studio album by American rock band Grand Funk Railroad, released in April 1971. The bonus tracks on the 2002 reissue labeled "Original Version" have extended sections and extra lyrics compared to the tracks as released on the original LP.

"Survival" is the album where Grand Funk sounds like a studio band form start to finish for the first time. It rocks and yet it sounds more sophisticated than all their previous efforts. Recommended!!

There seem to be two Grand Funk camps: those that like the early, raw material where the band demolished bluesy songs and tended to jam, and those that prefer the later, more pop Grand Funk after the addition of Craig Frost. This is very good HARD rock ALBUM!!!
