Para mí no es la obra favorita de Charly Mingus, pero al ser una de sus primeras creaciones como líder sí que marcó un camino como obra innovadora que conecta el blues jazz y la música religiosa afroamericana, la considero imprescindible en la discografía de este gran contrabajista compositor y lider de big band. El CD suena bien para ser una reedición Mono, que obviamente conserva el sonido espartano de la época (1956) sobre todo si estás acostumbrado a las grabaciones modernas.
