S. funk band Mass Production: - 1979's "In The Purest Form" and 1980's "Massterpiece", both written and produced by the self-contained band. The 10-piece group (Tyrone Williams, Ricardo Williams, LeCoy Bryant, Agnes Kelly, James Drumgole, Larry Marshall, Kevin Douglas, Gregory McCoy, Emmanuel Redding And Rodney Phelps) initially formed in Norfolk, Virginia, signed to Atlantic's Cotillion imprint in 1976 and enjoyed initial R&B success via their first three albums. This exciting 2-CD set features a total of eleven bonus tracks including four 12" singles; informative notes by renowned U. S. Writer Kevin Goins including new quotes from key members of the band and superb remastering by Donald Cleveland.

After extensive UK and US tape vault research, no original tape could be found for the 12" single versions of " Firecracker " ( track 1-14 ) and " Love You " ( track 1-15 ) . Using sonic solutions, original vinyl copies were used on this reissue.
Some information is taken from vinyl copies because there are several errors in the booklet.
