 | Description: | Limited vinyl LP pressing. Second-hand Smoke is a compilation album by the band Sublime. It was released in 1997 following the death of lead singer Bradley Nowell the year before. Although this is technically a compilation album, it features some unreleased material as well as recycled and remixed versions of previous tracks. It is also regarded as their final album. Even though the surviving members of Sublime (Eric Wilson and Bud Gaugh) stated that the band would not make any more albums after Nowell's death, which would result in the band's breakup, MCA bound them by their contract and made the remaining members follow out their contract with the next 3 albums. Sublime formed in 1988. The band's line-up, unchanged until their breakup, consisted of Bradley Nowell (vocals and guitar), Eric Wilson (bass) and Bud Gaugh (drums). They released three studio albums, one live album, five compilation albums (one of which also contains never-before released material), three EPs and one box set. Sublime did not experience major commercial success until 1996 with their self-titled third album, released two months after Nowell's death of a heroin overdose."Second Hand Smoke (2LP)" by Sublime is a must-have double vinyl album for fans of alternative rock, ska punk, and reggae fusion. Released by Universal, this compilation brings together rare tracks, B-sides, remixes, and unreleased gems from the influential California band. The 2LP format ensures an immersive listening experience with rich analog sound that captures the raw energy and eclectic style of Sublime. Highlights include fan favorites like "Doin' Time," "Wrong Way," and unique versions of classic tracks that showcase the band's genre-blending talent.
Sublime emerged from Long Beach in the late 1980s and quickly became pioneers in blending punk rock with reggae rhythms and hip-hop influences. Their self-titled album went multi-platinum after its release in 1996, featuring hits such as "Santeria" and "What I Got." Despite their career being tragically cut short by lead singer Bradley Nowell's passing, Sublime's legacy endures through their innovative sound and enduring popularity.
