Description:Henderson, joe;mirror, mirror by Joe Henderson, released 1 August 2016, includes the following tracks: "Keystone", "What's New" and more. This version of Henderson, joe;mirror, mirror comes as a 1xCD. -
Joe Henderson is the essence of jazz. He embodies all the elements that came together in his generation: the virtuosity of hard bop and the avant-garde. He can be harmonically abstract and yet keep to the roots. A highpoint in this rather reserved musician's life was the Grammy Henderson received in1991 for his album ìLush Lifeî. Henderson's playing style was influenced by, among others, John Coltrane. The connection is amply demonstrated by Henderson's ecstatic, piercing solo on his modally based composition ìJoe's Boleroî.
"Mirror, Mirror" is a remarkable jazz album by the legendary saxophonist Joe Henderson, presented here in CD format. Released in 1980, this recording showcases Henderson's virtuosic tenor saxophone alongside an all-star lineup featuring Chick Corea on piano, Ron Carter on bass, and Billy Higgins on drums. The album blends intricate improvisations with melodic sophistication across tracks like "Blue Bossa" and the title piece "Mirror, Mirror." Joe Henderson was one of the most influential figures in modern jazz; his career spanned over four decades during which he recorded numerous acclaimed albums such as "Page One," "Inner Urge," and won multiple Grammy Awards. His innovative approach to composition and performance has left a lasting mark on jazz history. This edition is produced by Musik Produktion Schwarzwald (MPS), a renowned German label celebrated for its high-quality recordings and dedication to authentic sound experiences since the 1960s.
