Description:Annie's sixth album, "Pearl Street," originally written as a one-person performance piece, is a song cycle of ten linked songs that follow the same characters through ten years of their lives. It follows "Swerve" (2001), the critically acclaimed release which featured Annie's phenomenal band including Michael Visceglia (Suzanne Vega) on bass, Denny McDermott (Steely Dan) on drums and Billy Masters (Dar Williams) on electric guitar. The production on "Pearl Street" is a bit more modern and varied, utilizing samples and featuring the intricate and unconventional guitar work of Duke McVinney (Shivaree). Here Annie's trademark lyrical style fuses with modern musical elements to create a unique musical subgenre.
