"Born in Detroit in 1945, raised in Texas. They were called the 6th Eagles and made their debut on Asylum Records with Jackson Browne. This is his debut work from Columbia (the third in total). The title song, which is said to be a homage to his beloved Roy Orbison, was a huge hit, reaching number 7 in the US (No. 1 in the adult contemporary charts). Included are "White Rhythm & Blues", which was featured by Linda Ronstadt, and "Last in Love", a beautiful ballad he wrote for Nicoletta Larson. His backing was also strengthened through his connections, including Jaqun Brown, Wadi Wachtel (guitar), Danny Kochmer (guitar), David Sanborn (sax), Don Henley, Don Felder, John Sebastian, and Phil.
