Digitally remastered two-fer containing the powerhouse trio's two Reprise Records albums from late 1973 and 1974. The band featured brothers Adrian and Paul Gurvitz with ex-Sounds Incorporated drummer Tony Newman. The Gurvitzs had enjoyed fame with The Gun and the single 'Race With The Devil', a UK Top Ten hit in 1968. However, The Gun was disbanded and Three Man Army's debut album was released in 1971 on the now defunct Pegasus label. A fourth album was recorded but not released. The brothers joined up with Ginger Baker to form Baker Gurvitz Army, whilst Newman joined David Bowie's band. This package contains the single 'Schoolgirl Queen'. Slipcased and with new notes.
The CD "Three Man Army/Three Man Army Two" brings together the two classic albums from the British rock band Three Man Army, originally released in the early 1970s. This reissue by BGO Records offers listeners a chance to experience the band's powerful blend of hard rock and blues influences, characterized by dynamic guitar work and compelling songwriting. Three Man Army was formed by brothers Adrian and Paul Gurvitz after their time with The Gun, joined later by drummer Tony Newman (formerly of Jeff Beck Group). Their music is marked by energetic performances and memorable tracks like "Polecat Woman" and "A Third of a Lifetime." Though not achieving mainstream superstardom, Three Man Army earned critical acclaim for their musicianship and have since become cult favorites among classic rock enthusiasts. BGO Records is renowned for its high-quality reissues of classic albums across genres, ensuring that important works remain accessible to new generations.

THREE MAN ARMY were an English band of brothers led by Sergeants Paul & Adrian Gurvitz, with various fired-up percussionists bringing up the rear, including Tony Newman (from the Jeff Beck Group), Carmine Appice (of Vanilla Fudge), Tom Kellie (of Spooky Tooth) and Buddy Miles (of Electric Flag). The Gurvitz brothers were previously known as the Gun, who are perhaps best-known for their 1968 hit song, "Race with the Devil". The brothers continued with the militaristic theme by going on to form the Baker-Gurvitz Army in the mid-1970's with Ginger Baker from Cream. Three Man Army delivered three artillery barrages (or albums) in a row during the early 1970's:- "A Third of a Lifetime" (1971); "Mahesha" (1973); & "Three Man Army Two" (1974). There was also one further album, the imaginatively-titled "Three Man Army 3" (2005), consisting of reworked demo recordings from the early 1970's sessions. Three Man Army are armed and ready to go, so it's time now to get locked and loaded for their first storming salvo of hard and heavy Rock.
