Eugene S. - 02/Aug/2022 The tenth studio album by the American band Metallica, released on November 18, 2016. Overall, the album topped the charts in 57 countries. The album was the best-selling rock and metal album of 2016, and went on to be certified platinum in the US. I recommend.
| | Yuriy P. - 10/Aug/2019 Nice album. After the third or fourth listening, you can call it cool. There is everything: the 80s, Load / Reload, and Magnetic. It would be interesting to see the reaction if he came out twenty years ago instead of the aforementioned couple. You can’t say that there are a lot of self-repetitions. A couple of places. The rest is fresh within the genre.
Dad Hat just drags everything. Both vocals and riffs. Not enough clean ballads. There is no great delight, but they gave a very good mood.
UPD after three auditions:
The album is good. This is heavy, mid-tempo music. Heavier Load / Reload. At the same time, there are two purely thrash metal compositions, a couple more faster. There is little self-plagiarism in the album, there is even some freshness. For example, the chic “Spit Out The Bone” sounds like a composition of some young, modern thrash metal band. The solos are boring, like the drums. Melodic moments, harmonies remind the best of times, evoke very pleasant emotions. There are many tracks, some could be omitted in bonuses. The usual strong ballad is not enough, because such a set of compositions almost identical in speed is tiring. The second disk is weaker than the first and is perceived heavily. It takes three or four auditions to find something there for yourself. I want to go back to the album and come back, oddly enough. Songs are not long, when compared with Death Magnetic, there are just a lot of them. James Hatfield is just fine: in riffs, in lyrics, and in vocal work. Impressive.
