Description:Double vinyl LP pressing. Original soundtrack to the 2016 motion picture composed and produced by Johann Johannsson. The Paramount Pictures film Arrival is the composers third cinematic collaboration with French-Canadian director Denis Villeneuve, following on from last year's crime thriller Sicario, which garnered Johannsson an Oscar nomination for best original score. Arrival stars Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner and Forest Whitaker, Adams playing the lead role of a linguist who attempts to communicate with the alien intelligence controlling a fleet of spacecraft that has suddenly and ominously appeared at sites all around the globe. As mankind teeters on the brink of global war, she and her team embark on a race against time to find out why these craft have come to earth. More than a conventional sci-fi thriller, this is a thoughtful, intellectual drama with a genre twist. Johannsson worked with several singers and vocal ensembles and combined both classical and avant-garde elements in his compositions, augmenting his already unique approach of combining orchestral writing with digital sound processing. Among those appearing are the prestigious Theatre of Voices, conducted by Paul Hillier, and artists such as Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe and Hildur Guonadottir, known for their unique musicianship. Johannsson also integrated some found sounds from the legendary avant-garde vocalist Joan La Barbara into his score. The soundtrack was recorded in Prague, Copenhagen and his native Reykjavik., Runningtime: 00:00:00, Alto Vocals: Elenor Wiman, Alto Vocals: Ellen Marie Christensen, Alto Vocals: Kristin Mulders, Arranged By [Arrangements For Theatre Of Voices Recordings]: Jóhann Jóhannsson, Arranged By [Arrangements For Theatre Of Voices Recordings]: Owen Roberts, Bass Vocals: Jakob Bloch Jespersen, Bass Vocals: Jakob Soelberg, Booklet Editor: Jens Schünemeyer, Cello, Halldorophone [Dórophone], Voice: Hildur Guðnadóttir, Choir: Theatre Of Voices, Concertmaster: Lucie ?vehlová, Conductor [The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra]: Anthony Weeden, Conductor [Theatre Of Voices]: Paul Hillier, Coordinator [Soundtrack Album Coordinator]: Jason Richmond, Engineer [Additional Sound Engineers]: Francesco Donadello, Engineer [Additional Sound Engineers]: Ólafur Björn Ólafsson, Engineer [Assistant Engineers]: Michal Hradiský, Engineer [Assistant Engineers]: Vít Král, Engineer [Recording Engineer]: Jan Holzner, Engineer [Sound Engineer For Theatre Of Voices Recordings]: Preben Iwan, Executive-Producer [Executive In Charge Of Music For Deutsche Grammophon]: Christian Badzura, Executive-Producer [Executive In Charge Of Music For Paramount Pictures]: Randy Spendlove, Executive-Producer [Executive Soundtrack Album Producers]: Aaron Ryder, Executive-Producer [Executive Soundtrack Album Producers]: Dan Levine, Executive-Producer [Executive Soundtrack Album Producers]: David Linde, Executive-Producer [Executive Soundtrack Album Producers]: Denis Villeneuve, Executive-Producer [Executive Soundtrack Album Producers]: Shawn Levy, Guitar: Adam Wiltzie, Keyboards, Programmed By [Programming], Loops [Tape Loops], Sound Designer [Musical Sound Design]: Jóhann Jóhannsson, Lacquer Cut By: fmw (2), Management [Composer Management]: Tim Husom, Mastered By: Bo Kondren, Mixed By [Mixing Engineers For Score Album]: Jóhann Jóhannsson, Mixed By [Mixing Engineers For Score Album]: Paul Corley, Mixed By [Score Mixing Engineer]: Daniel Kresco, Music By: Jóhann Jóhannsson, Musical Assistance [Studio Assistant]: Rick Vincent Will, Orchestra: The City Of Prague Philharmonic, Orchestrated By [Orchestration Assistant]: Sam Jones (26), Orchestrated By [Orchestrations]: Anthony Weeden, Orchestrated By [Orchestrations]: Jóhann Jóhannsson, Percussion: Ólafur Björn Ólafsson, Producer [Album Produced By]: Jóhann Jóhannsson, Production Manager [Project Management Deutsche Grammophon]: Leonie Petersen, Programmed By [Modular Synthesizer Programming]: Phillip Barth, Programmed By [Programming]: Rutger Hoedemaekers, Saxophone, Lyricon: Colin Stetson, Soprano Vocals: Else Torp Schröder, Soprano Vocals: Signe Asmussen, Sound Designer [Musical Sound Designers]: Simon Ashdown (2), Sound Designer [Musical Sound Designers]: Wil Slater (4), Tenor Vocals: Christopher Watson, Tenor Vocals: Paul Bentley-Angell, Vocals, Synthesizer [Modular]: Robert Lowe (2), Written-By [Co-Written By]: Joan La Barbara, Written-By, Producer, Arranged By: Jóhann Jóhannsson, Labelcode 4796786 (479 6786), Record Company Universal Music, Phonographic Copyright (p) Paramount Pictures, Phonographic Copyright (p) Xenolinguistics, LLC, Licensed To Deutsche Grammophon GmbH, Copyright (c) Deutsche Grammophon GmbH, Phonographic Copyright (p) Deutsche Grammophon GmbH, Published By Paramount Allegra Music, Published By Film Nation Sound, Published By NTOV Music, Published By Mute Song, Recorded At Smecky Music Studios, Recorded At Vox-Ton, Recorded At NTOV, Berlin, Recorded At DR, Recorded At Gufunes Radio, Designed A
