 | Description: | Spanning Queenâ??s triumphant first act, from 1974 to 1980, Greatest Hits includes some of the worldâ??s most beloved rock standards, including the stadium-sized symphonic chart-topper Bohemian Rhapsody and the roof-raising We Are The Champions, which was named the most catchy song of all time by a team of scientists in 2011. But this album also dazzles with its stylistically promiscuous range, from the crowd rousing We Will Rock You, the tongue in cheek Fat Bottomed Girls, the stomp-stomp-stomp late 70â??s disco inspired Another One Bites the Dust, to the finger-snapping jukebox retro-rock homage Crazy Little Thing Called Love and the soaring, impassioned, gospel-fired Aretha-isms of Somebody To Love. Re-mastered as a gatefold-sleeve double vinyl album, these 17 tracks are now spread across four sides of 180 gram heavyweight red vinyl. - 180GR.Queen Greatest Hits (and Greatest Hits II separately) is released on 180 gram heavyweight vinyl. Both titles will use their original artwork, and for the first time, Greatest Hits will be released as a 2LP set. HYUNG RAE K. - 04/Dec/2022 "Killer Queen" follows and was the band's first US Top 20 hit in Spring 1975 in the US and hit #2 in 1974 in the UK. Included is the single mix of "Fat Bottomed Girls" which is a nice different version to the full album track and that was a Top 30 US hit in 1978 as was its A-side "Bicycle Race".
| | Yuriy P. - 04/Feb/2022 By the early 80s, Queen were one of the most popular rock bands in the world, and so it was decided to finally release the first official collection of their best songs. The well-known record company EMI did this, since it was on this label that all Queen discs were released, with the exception of those released in the 90s. No tedious work on the selection of the best compositions was done - those compositions that occupied high places in the charts were simply taken. In this regard, the situation turned out that the strongest first album was completely bypassed, and from the equally wonderful second one there is only “Seven Seas of Rhye”. All other discs, from "Sheer Heart Attack" in 1974 to "The Game" in 1980, are represented by 2-4 tracks. There is even a song called "Flash" from the movie "Flash Gordon" in 1980. Unfortunately, for a completely unclear reason, all this is not in chronological order, although some songs from the same album are together. However, let's not pay attention to this, because we have a really great set of hits before us: "Killer Queen", "Somebody to Love", "We Will Rock You", and, of course, the magnificent "Bohemian Rhapsody". If you want to get to know all the versatility of this wonderful band and enjoy the inflections of the voice of one of the best rock singers, well, this release is for you. At the very least, you will have an incentive to buy the rest of the work, because Queen is not only hits that took places in some charts. Well, fans who already have all the albums have nothing to look out for here - there is not a single new composition on this disc that is less than an hour long. In any case, no one forces us to spend money to hear just a couple of new songs, and often not the most successful ones.
| | Ivica S. - 17/Jan/2021 The early 1970's were a really great time for British rock music with Queen, Bowie and many others at their height of their powers. This compilation show us how was The QUEEN are BIG - Bigger than others...
