In den vergangenen 40 Jahren hat der brasilianische Fotograf Sebastio Salgado auf allen Kontinenten die Spuren unserer sich wandelnden Welt und Menschheitsgeschichte dokumentiert. Dabei war er Zeuge wichtiger Ereignisse der letzten Jahrzehnte von internationalen Konflikten, Kriegen und ihren Folgen, von Hungersnöten, Vertreibung und Leid. Seine beeindruckenden Fotoreportagen haben den Blick auf unsere Welt geformt. Salgado selbst wäre seelisch an dieser Aufgabe fast zugrunde gegangen, wenn er nicht ein neues, ein gigantisches Fotoprojekt begonnen hätte: Genesis. Fast die Hälfte unseres Planeten ist bis zum heutigen Tag unberührt. Mit seiner Kamera widmet sich Salgado seit nunmehr fast einem Jahrzehnt diesen paradiesischen Orten unserer Erde, kehrt an den Ursprung allen Lebens zurück und offenbart uns eine wunderbare Hommage an die Schönheit unseres Planeten.
