45 years on from its release 'Station To Station' is now seen as a musical bridge between the 'plastic soulâ?? of 1975â??s 'Young Americans' and the experimental beginning of Bowieâ??s Berlin era that was 1977â??s â??Low'.
The albumâ??s first single 'Golden Yearsâ?? was a hit on both sides of the Atlantic and one of five singles released from the six-song album (though the title track was only released on 45 in France and â??Stayâ?? was a single exclusively in the USA). - .. STATION / 2016 REMASTERED VERSIONLimited vinyl LP pressing. Digitally remastered edition. Station to Station is the tenth studio album by rock legend David Bowie, released by RCA Records in 1976. Commonly regarded as one of his most significant works, Station To Station was the vehicle for his performance persona, the Thin White Duke. Musically, Station to Station was a transitional album for Bowie, developing the funk and soul music of his previous release, Young Americans, while presenting a new direction towards synthesizers and motorik rhythms that was influenced by German electronic bands such as Neu! And Kraftwerk. Blending funk and krautrock, romantic balladry and occultism, Station To Station has been described as "simultaneously one of Bowie's most accessible albums and his most impenetrable". Preceded by the single "Golden Years", it made the top five in both the UK and US charts.The LP is issued in a white poly lined inner sleeve. The package also includes a large format credits insert and a replica of the original white die-cut paper inner sleeve.
2016 is printed on centre labels and sleeve, but the LP wasn't released until February 2017.
