ï?· Altered Imagesâ?? third and final album was released in June 1983, presenting a more sophisticated sound and image than the previous two albums. In an unusual move, two established producers were responsible for four songs each on the album. It was preceded by the hit singles â??Donâ??t Talk To Me About Loveâ?, a # 7 UK hit , produced by Mike Chapman (Blondie) and â??Bring Me Closerâ?(# 29), produced by Tony Visconti (David Bowie, T. Rex). ï?· This 40 th anniversary edition is presented in its original sleeve , pressed on 180 gram heavyweight black vinyl , featuring an obi strip, and housed in a poly lined inner sleeve, with all the lyrics and credits on the 4 page insert . This limited edition of 1000 also contains a print signed by Clare Grogan. ï?· This new edition has been expertly mastered by Barry Grint at AIR Mastering from the original stereo tapes using precision half speed mastering. ï?· Half speed mastering is a vinyl cutting technique that improves groove accuracy and transient information creating an incredibly detailed stereo image with a natural high frequency response. ï?· In this very special 40 th anniversary 2CD set , CD1 features the original album , while bonus CD2 contains the three non album B sides , two extended 12â? versions , a live track and three single edits . ï?· The two CDs are presented in brand new seven inch deluxe gatefold packaging , with an 8 page booklet which includes all the lyrics (including the three B sides) and the credits . -

Double 180gm vinyl LP pressing includes a bonus LP containing six bonus tracks including the extended versions of the singles 'Don't Talk To Me About Love' and 'Bring Me Closer' plus an alternative studio recording of 'Another Lost Look'. 'Surprise Me', 'I Don't Want To Know' and 'Thinking About You' make up the final three songs on the second disc. After the success of the bands previous two albums Happy Birthday and Pinky Blue, Bite saw a change in musical direction. Gone was the earlier post punk sound and now the songs were becoming far more polished with a pure pop pedigree. To that end Mike Chapman and Tony Visconti were brought in to produce the album. Mike Chapman had produced Blondie's Parallel Lines album and Tony Visconti had been working with David Bowie, so the duo's involvement was seen by many as a move to bring the band to the forefront of the post punk '80s pop scene. The band also underwent some personnel changes with Stephen Lironi joining the band as drummer. The album spawned one of the bands biggest hits in 'Don't Talk To Me About Love' which reached #7 in the UK chart. The album contains many highlights and is still heralded by many fans as a great pop album.
