This group emerged at a time of a certain impasse in British pop and the truth was great to succeed. In a non-rock group without being an antirockist or at all purist of electronics or dance techno. They makes an ultra-melodic and sentimental pop elaborated "only" with piano, bass, drums and voice but as if they used guitars; I think you have to know a lot about music and have very clear ideas so that with this format you get a group of massive success. And Keane is and has it. They were 8 years as a group before recording this their first album. Some of the British critics sold them as the new "Coldplay", but Keane, in my opinion, were and are differents and wanted to play in another league, even aesthetics if you hurry me.
