Description:Based on the character created by Louis L'Amour and the John Wayne film of the same name, Hondo depicts the adventures of former cavalry scout Hondo Lane and his dog, Sam, as he tries to broker a peace between the white settlers and the Native Americans fighting to keep their land way of life. Ex-scout, ex-Confederate officer, and widower of massacred Apache bride, Hondo has the right mix of perspectives needed to troubleshoot the dangers found in the lawless and powder-keg atmosphere that envelopes the Arizona Territory of the 1870s. Aiding Hondo is frontier widow Angie Dow, her son Johnny, grizzled sidekick Buffalo Baker, Apache Chief Vittoro, Colonel Crook and Captain Richards.
Hondo: The Complete Series on DVD by Wara brings the legendary Western television show to your home collection. Originally aired in 1967, "Hondo" stars Ralph Taeger as Hondo Lane, a rugged former Confederate officer who roams the Arizona frontier with his loyal dog Sam. The series is based on the classic John Wayne film and stories by Louis L?Amour, blending action-packed adventures with themes of justice and survival in the Old West. Ralph Taeger was known for his strong screen presence, also starring in "Klondike" and "Acapulco." Noah Beery Jr., playing Buffalo Baker, had an illustrious career including roles in "The Rockford Files" and numerous classic films. Michael Pate delivers a memorable performance as Apache chief Vittoro; he was acclaimed for roles in both American and Australian cinema such as ?McLintock!? Director Lee H. Katzin contributed significantly to TV history with work on shows like ?Mission: Impossible? and ?Man from U.N.C.L.E.?
