Throughout the set, and in an eclectic range of musical contexts, we hear the sensitive, lyrical playing that placed Evans firmly amongst the all-time jazz greats; including sessions for such legends as Charles Mingus, Cannonball Adderley, Chet Baker, Michel Legrand, Helen Merrill and the Danish trombonist Kai Winding; for progressive composer/arrangers such as George Russell, Earl Zindars, Bill Potts, Oliver Nelson and Tadd Dameron, and in collaboration with technicians of the calibre of Jim Hall, Freddie Hubbard, Shelly Manne and Bob Brookmeyer.
