These include The Four Freshmen and Five Saxes, Voices in Latin, Freshmen Favourites Vol. 2, Voices in Love and In Person Vol. 1. Side two of 'Freshmen Favorites Vol. 2' can be found on the forthcoming collection from Jasmine, which covers the groups next four LPs from 1959 - 1960. The Four Freshmen are one of the most unique and arguably most influential of all the male vocal groups who emerged in American pop music during the 20th Century. In fact it is hard to imagine how Brian Wilson and his Beach Boys or Frankie Valli and his Four Seasons would have emerged in the early 1960s, if not for them being influenced by The Four Freshmen. There is an official and indeed very popular version of The Four Freshmen still singing today. Now that's what you call a legacy. |
