Description:
Digitally remastered two CD collection. Enchantment remain one of the most played R&B groups from the 1970's on the R&B quiet storm format radio in the United States. Sunshine: The Enchantment Anthology (1975-1984) is the first ever double disc collection of the group and includes all of their chart singles. Enchantment were formed in 1967 at Pershing High School in Detroit and secured their first recording contract two years later by winning first place in a talent contest sponsored by Detroit's WCHB radio station. In 1970 Enchantment joined the renowned talent agency Artists International and developed their song and stage craft through the early seventies performing throughout the Detroit area. This period culminated in the group recording the soundtrack for the movie Deliver Us From Evil. A single from the soundtrack, 'Call On Me', was released on Polydor in 1975. The following year Enchantment released their eponymous debut LP on Roadshow Records which kick started a great run of success and the release of further albums over the following few years which spawned the singles 'Gloria' (R&B #5) and 'Sunshine' (R&B #3), 'It's You That I Need' topped the R&B chart in 1978 and 'If You're Ready (Here It Comes)' gained them a further disco audience and peaked at R&B #14. Sunshine: The Enchantment Anthology (1975-1984) is the first ever anthology issued on the group. Newly remastered and presented in a super-jewel case, complete with liner notes, the collection is a must for all Philly soul, funk and disco fans.
