| Description: | Groove Armada, formed of jazz musician Andy Cato and Tom Findlay, had been floating around the dance scene as DJs, pressing white label 12"s, for some time before releasing this album. While the tempos on Groove Armadaâ??s â??Vertigoâ?? vary from Fatboy Slim-ish party rockers to Air-like downtempo ambient grooves, the songs themselves are downright simple, sample-laden, and sugary sweet. Entire six-minute songs are crafted from just a few samples. This approach may strike some as lazy, but the music is invitingly melodic, modern dance-pop, and you'll want to hear the songs over and over, especially the up-tempo "I See You Baby" and the mellow "At the River." - Originally released in May 1999, 'Vertigo' was the second album from Groove Armada (following the independently released 'Northern Star') and the first album with record label backing (Jive Electro). Selling over a million copies worldwide, it spawned unforgettable and era defining singles 'At The River' and 'I See You Baby' shooting the band into global superstars.
