Description:
Deluxe CD/DVD edition includes two live bonus tracks, as well as Back to the Swamp: The Making of Southern Blood DVD. 2017 release, the final studio album from the late, great rock icon. Southern Blood serves as a remarkable final testament from an artist whose contributions have truly shaped rock 'n' roll throughout the past four decades. This is Allman's first all-new recording since 2011's Grammy Award-nominated solo landmark, Low Country Blues. Produced by Don Was and recorded in Muscle Shoals where Duane Allman and the earliest seeds of the Allman Brothers Band were sown, Southern Blood is among the most uniquely personal of the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer's career. This emotionally expansive collection of songs written by friends and favorite artists including Jackson Browne, Willie Dixon, Jerry Garcia & Robert Hunter, Lowell George and Spooner Oldham & Dan Penn serves as a salutary farewell to his legion of devoted fans and admirers., Runningtime: 00:00:00, Arranged By [Horns]: Art Edmaiston, Arranged By [Horns]: Jay Collins, Arranged By [Horns]: Marc Franklin, Authoring [DVD Authoring And Compression]: Craig Anderson (3), Authoring [DVD Authoring And Compression]: David Dieckmann, Bass: Ron Johnson (11), Coordinator [Production Coordinator]: Ivy Skoff, Design [Package Design]: Jimmy Hole, Drums: Steve Potts (2), Engineer: Earl McCoy (3), Engineer [Additional Engineering]: Howard Willing, Engineer [Additional Engineering]: Tony Fagenson, Executive-Producer: Eliza Levy (2), Executive-Producer: John Virant, Executive-Producer: Michael Lehman (3), Guitar: Scott Sharrard, Guitar, Vocals, Electric Organ [B3]: Gregg Allman, Keyboards, Piano, Electric Piano [Wurlitzer], Electric Piano [Fender Rhodes], Vibraphone: Peter Levin, Liner Notes: Devon Allman, Liner Notes: Don Was, Liner Notes: Layla Allman, Liner Notes: Shannon Allman, Management: Lehman & Lehman, Management: Michael Lehman (3), Mandolin: Greg Leisz, Mastered By: Ian Sefchick, Mixed By: Bob Clearmountain, Mixed By [Assistant]: Sergio Ruelas, Music Director: Scott Sharrard, Musician [Additional Musician], Backing Vocals: Stephanie Brown (4), Musician [Additional Musician], Backing Vocals: The McCrary Sisters, Musician [Additional Musician], Electric Guitar: Val McCallum, Musician [Additional Musician], Harmony Vocals: Buddy Miller, Musician [Additional Musician], Pedal Steel Guitar: Greg Leisz, Painting [Gregg Painting]: Vincent Castiglia, Percussion: Marc Quinones, Photography By [DVD Label B3 Photo]: Ian Rawn, Photography By [Painting]: Neal Preston, Photography By [Studio Photography]: Matt Butler (10), Photography By [Valhalla]: Teresa Earnest, Producer: Don Was, Producer [Production Assistant]: Rachel Jones (7), Producer, Directed By, Edited By [Bonus DVD]: Adam Jones, Recorded By: John Gifford III, Recorded By: Rodney Hall, Technician [Tech Support]: James van de Bogert, Technician [Tech Support]: Josh Bennett (6), Technician [Tech Support]: Tim Wright (24), Tenor Saxophone, Baritone Saxophone: Art Edmaiston, Tenor Saxophone, Baritone Saxophone, Flute: Jay Collins, Tour Manager, Coordinator: David Sutherland (6), Trumpet, Flugelhorn: Marc Franklin, Vocals: Jackson Browne, Written-By: Gregg Allman, Written-By: Scott Sharrard, Written-By: Larry Beckett, Written-By: Tim Buckley, Written-By: Bob Dylan, Written-By: Jerry Garcia, Written-By: Robert Hunter, Written-By: Willie Dixon, Written-By: Lowell George, Written-By: Jackie Avery, Written-By: Dan Penn, Written-By: Spooner Oldham, Written-By: Scott Sharrard, Featuring, Written By: Jackson Browne, Written-By: Willie Dixon, Written-By: Scott Sharrard, Labelcode 7203368 (0888072033689, 0888072033689), Phonographic Copyright (p) Rounder Records, Copyright (c) Rounder Records, Recorded At Muscle Shoals Sound Studios, Recorded At Clay Center, Recorded At Tower Theater, Mixed At Mix This!, Engineered At Blackbird Studio, Engineered At The Hut, Glass Mastered At Sony DADC, Mastered At Capitol Mastering, Published By D-Dem Music, Published By Brickyard Blues Music, Published By Tim Buckley Music, Published By BMG Platinum Songs, Published By Third Story Music, Inc., Published By Bob Dylan Music, Published By R

This is a really good record that is a fine memorial to Gregg. However, it is Gregg’s choice of songs and his own heartfelt vocals that make this record special . Highly recommend
